ADA, Okla. – As Homecoming approaches, East Central University is preparing to honor outstanding students and alumni at the annual Alumni Gala Dinner and Dance on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. in the ECU Foundation Hall, located inside the Chickasaw Business & Conference Center.
The Gala, organized in conjunction with the Black Alumni Association (BAA), recognizes the recipients of the ECU-BAA scholarships and the ECU Rising Star Awards. In addition, this year’s 2025 Gala will also feature one Distinguished Alumni honoree.
The 2025 ECU-BAA Scholarship recipients:
- Corri Patterson, a current Human Services Counseling major.
- Cuisheena Rollins, a current Social Work major.
- Anjana Shrestha, a current Nursing major.
The 2025 ECU Rising Star Award recipients are:
- Andrea Sifers, a 2009 graduate in Early Childhood Education.
- Dr. Carlee Henderson, a 2017 graduate in Biology.
- Samuel Malchar, a 2013 graduate in Business Administration and Finance.
Dr. Louise Young will be honored as the 2025 Distinguished Alumni recipient.
